of Denise Cavassa's
classes
and workshops are designed to stimulate creativity, relaxation, the enjoyment
of "being in
the moment",
self-awareness, appreciation and love while having a good time!
Heavy emphasis
is on safety of exercise execution, alignment, stretching, breath support and
relaxation techniques with special attention given to enjoyment and freedom of
movement. Moving "naturally", you develop your inner
sensory awareness and bring it to the forefront of your consciousness, align
your mind-body-spirit, and enhance your peace, creativity and enjoyment in
Life.

and Denise

therapeutic movement techniques to "be more
comfortable in your body."
BodyKnowledgetm fundamental movement
techniques are specially designed for you to "learn
to use your body the way it is designed for movement with gravity
through muscular re-education".
Efficient movement patterns become
second-nature and your everyday activities support and maintain
your fitness and wellness goals and results.
BodyKnowledgetm
classes combine many elements of fitness and movement, including dance, martial
arts, yoga, and other "systematic
muscular development techniques". You learn to access your Body Connections for
BodyKnowledgetm
4S Benefits: Stimultaneous Stretching, Strengthening & Sculpting for
total body conditioning.
You will feel relaxed, released, yet
energized from this class and you will notice ~
visually and kinesthetically ~
immediate
improvements in your body. Many
different types of music are used as another way of expanding
your awareness of the beauty and joy that is available to us all
in abundance.
Ballercizetm
is a new, fun and exciting way to exercise using light-weight, inflated balls of
various sizes, including a large GymnikBall, a physical therapy tool. Ballercizetm
consists of BodyKnowledgetm
techniques and allows you to
safely condition your body as the Balls support you while you bounce, roll and
lean on them. Difficult exercises are
easy to perform as you develop your "core support"
(the muscles deep
inside of your torso that are the basis for whole body stability) to maintain
your balance, enjoy deep muscle conditioning with 4S Benefits,
release tension from your neck and spine, and free your joints for full range
of motion. The Basic
Ballercizetm classes are:
Big Ballercizetm
using the large Ball; Small Ballercizetm
using
a small, 10-12" Ball; and RollerBodytm
which uses small balls for self-massage and tension release techniques. Ballercizetm
is great for
people of all ages and fitness levels and "makes fitness a ball!"

A fabulous combination of
4S Beneficial techniques with
Afro-Caribbean-Brazilian, Latin, Reggae, Middle Eastern, and Ethnic dance forms
of the people of the Earth! To music rich in soul-stirring allure (often to
live drums*), this class appeals to the
mind-body-spirit by helping you to connect to The Life Rhythm that is unique to
each of us and which connects us in a common bond. You enhance your ability to
Center yourself, to relax, to stimulate your creativity, and to perform
whatever you desire at your best. Earthrobicstm
gives you
the release of tensions that block your creativity and enjoyment in an
aerobically stimulating dance/exercise form. (Earthrobicstm
is easily structured to the level of the class. *Live drummers are optional.)

Along with accessing your Body Connections, when
you develop your core support your superficial muscles
automatically gain better total body conditioning with 4S Benefits. By properly strengthening your deep,
internal muscles, you create quickly-achieved, long-lasting results which
include the prevention/alleviation of neck and back pain and other problems associated
with muscular-skeletal imbalances. The techniques in this workshop allow you to
work your back and abdominal muscles simultaneously, in balance and include
floor, seated and standing abdominal exercises to enhance your options for
maintaining "fab abs"!

These total body conditioning techniques focus on using your
Body Connections
and
your body's "Big X" design to utilize dynamic
tension and alignment as you move through space. Xercisestm allow you to progress at your own rate and
are structured so that progress occurs by building on the Basic Xercisetm into
invigorating, 4S Beneficial routines. You will stimulate your cardiovascular
system and work your body in total balance: front and back, right and left,
upper and lower all in one repetition!
Xercisestm adapt to fit your space, time and
conditioning requirements and can be performed reclined, in a chair and
standing B truly
making this an any time, anywhere program where you learn a wide variety of
physical and mental, natural healing techniques that you can use anytime and
anywhere. Emphasis is on proper breathing, alignment, stretching, and
visualization techniques and many secrets of the ancient healing arts.

This is Denise's own tried and true method of stress relief
always a new and exciting experience designed to leave you relaxed, released,
and ready to handle the trials and tribulations that confront you daily. And,
of course, the object of the class is to have a good time while taking care of
your Self. The D-Stresstm At Your Desk workshop
provides relieving techniques that can easily be performed while at work
without drawing unnecessary attention to yourself. This is a corporate wellness favorite and the D-Stresstm
At Your Desk Video is available for home and office use.

Designed with "safety
first" in mind,
Polercizetm focuses on developing proper
alignment, coordination and balance for 4S Benefits using a wooden or plastic pole for comfort and easy use.
This class encourages you to utilize your own body weight and motion to
beautifully develop long, sleek, flexible, sculpted muscles as opposed to
muscles with a bulky, shortened appearance with limited range of motion.
Pole-Steptm
is a step-aerobic type of conditioning class, which may (or not) use a step for
extra excitement!

Flexibility is the key to freedom of movement and beautiful, functional
muscle development. With simple, easy,
feel-good techniques, you will learn to stretch in ways that honor your body,
improve your flexibility and range of motion, and enhance your muscle
definition and function. Denise believes that stretching is the key element of the
4S Benefits because it allows you better function and
expression of movement. The SensibleStretchtm workshops explore a variety
of ways to prepare your body for activity, relax and release tension, keep
tissues and organs healthy and make movement a joyous experience. PartnerStretchtm further enhances these
techniques into a joyous experience to share with a friend!

Denise’s book, Eat What You Want & Look & Feel Fabulous! Intelligent Eating
Plan Guide, outlines the successful
techniques she has used to guide her clients to permanent
weight loss and management.
Denise’s "Eating Plans" allow you to eat as much of
the foods you like in digestible combinations so that you are never
hungry. You can also have the foods
that are definite “no-no’s” on diets. The goal is to teach you to control your
weight in ways that support your enjoyment of life.

combines traditional massage with scientific techniques to free congestion
(which causes pain, impairs movement, etc.) from the body. Once congestion is
freed, the body can heal itself. Denise's Restorative Bodywork Massage workshops are structured in
three ways: (1) Professional's Workshop teaches bodyworkers the more advanced techniques
and how to conserve their strength and energy while effectively working on
clients; (2) Self-Massage teaches participants of
all levels how to safely and effectively massage their own bodies, including
those hard to reach places like the back; and (3) Couples-Massage
teaches participants how to give a great and safe massage to a friend.

explores focusing the breath and utilizing the entire
"respiratory pathway", enabling participants to
learn to use breath more effectively and efficiently and stimulate the body's natural healing process.
Various techniques for breath control are explored (including visualization and
physical exercises) to assist in strengthening the muscles used in healthy
respiration and enhance relaxation and stress relief. This program is designed
for people of all fitness levels from the avid fitness enthusiasts, asthmatics,
pregnant women, people recuperating from surgery, eating and stomach disorders,
and anyone who breathes!

teaches BodyKnowledge
Basicstm
to children combined with
Intentional Breathing techniques in a safe, fun and meaningful way. The earlier
a person learns healthy habits the better, and learning in a fun environment
yields the most efficient results. This workshop can be structured to
accommodate children of all ages, from toddlers to pre-teens, and it is
recommended that children participate in age groups of 5-7, 8-10, and 11-13.
The Family Funshop! lets parents join in the fun!

Denise
also teaches
pre-natal and post-partum classes and special workshops for women recovering
from abusive relationships and substance abuse to assist in the rebuilding of
their self-esteem and the reclaiming of their power.
|
|
All of the above classes can be conducted in master class and workshop form.
Regular classes are 45 to 60 minutes in length; master classes are 90 minutes
maximum; and workshops range from 90 minutes to 3 hours, focusing on various
muscle groups, choreographic forms, enhancement of results, and other specific
fitness and wellness “secrets”. Special accommodations may be considered upon
